Our history

Creative technology — Out of responsibility for people, the environment and machinery!

The Fischer Group has been a specialist in exhaust gas purification for over 20 years.

Dirk Fischer, Group Managing Partner, is a mechanical engineering graduate with a specialism in combustion theory, piston engines and working machines. Prior to starting his own company in 1998, he worked in the field of CHP technology.

We develop and sell our exhaust gas aftertreatment solutions entirely in keeping with our slogan “Creative Technology — For People, the Environment and Machinery.”

Our Fischer Group has two centres in Germany. The headquarters are situated in Emsdetten, in the Münsterland region. The Fischer Group currently moved to its new building to provide even more space for creative ideas, new developments, test facilities and filter servicing. Meanwhile, our assembly service in Ochsenhausen ensures that a technician can always be dispatched quickly to our customers in the south of Germany as well.

The Fischer Abgastechnik portfolio of products and services encompasses a wide variety of systems. The range includes particulate filters and catalytic converters, thermal management systems and our proprietary HeliosFFB full-flow burner for engine sizes up to 1000 kW, as well as the E-Power system.
DeNOx denitrification systems round off the broad range of options, enabling us to put together exactly the right combination for our customers and their application.

We have an in-house design, CFD and FEM department to support both the development and the preparation of systems for our customers. Each burner, E-Power and SRC system is assembled on our test bed before it leaves the company. Delivery does not take place until everything has been thoroughly tested. So far, we have put around 100 particulate filter and 50 SCR systems into operation on inland vessels.

In the course of the year, we will be unveiling some new developments, such as a smaller auxiliary burner and a 1000 kW burner for marine and industrial applications. In addition, the first active soot filter systems to be installed downstream of OEM SCR systems are currently undergoing testing – and the results are looking good.
